Greece’s ambassador to Brazil Kyriakos Amiridis was killed his wife’s lover. Police is currently quizzing the widow following the claim of Sergio Gomes Moreira Filho to have committed the crime act.

According to police investigator Chief Evaristo Pontes the lover stated he killed the ambassador in self-defense and thereafter disposed the body with the help of his cousin.

The 59-year-old ambassador went missing since Monday. Police discovered a charred body inside a burned car in Nova Iquacu town on Thursday.

Pontes said, “He (Moreira) says he got into a physical fight with the ambassador, and he had no choice other than to hit the ambassador and kill him… He says he was in desperation and didn’t know what to do, given what had happened, so he asked a cousin for help and they went to make the ambassador’s body disappear.”

Officials are also questioning the wideo Francoise De Souza and cousin Eduardo Moreira de Melo too.

Though no charges have been filed yet on the widow, but officers believe she ordered the killing.

It is learned the ambassador was murdered inside his home in Nova Iquacu. His body was wrapped in carpet and put inside a car.
