Stockholm Truk Attack Failed To Detonate IED: Swedish Police
The Stockholm truck attack that killed four and injured 15 others had IED on board which failed to explode, said Swedish police on Saturday.
The vehicle was stolen minutes before the attack from nearby when its driver was busy making a delivery.
The killer is a 39-year-old man from Uzbekistan who works at construction in Sweden. He is father-of-four and has family in home country. Police has found Islamic State propaganda material from his laptop. His Facebook page reveals ‘likes’ on photos and videos of terror acts posted by the Islamic State.
Witnesses said the man set himself alight after failed attempt of detonating the explosives that was in his suitcase. He thereafter fled on foot.
Police has arrested couple of more suspects including a 17-year-old boy who was released later after questioning.
An Australian tourist said he saw the truck coming towards him and it didn’t seem out of control but the driver wanted to hit people deliberately.
The truck over ran on a 11-year-old girl who was returning home from school and minutes before she had spoken to her mother.
Similar vehicle attack took place about a fortnight before at Westminster Bridge in London that killed five people and injured dozens others.
Swedish police finds both the attacks have similarities.http://www.dailynewsz.com/stockholm-trum-attack-failed-to-detonate-ied-swedish-police/http://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Stockholm-Trum-Attack-Failed-To-Detonate-IED-Swedish-Police.jpghttp://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Stockholm-Trum-Attack-Failed-To-Detonate-IED-Swedish-Police-300x300.jpgworld newsstockholm, sweden, truck attack
