Saudi Arabia Royal Family Member Executed
A member of the royal family is executed Tuesday in Saudi Arabia being convicted of shooting a man to death during a brawl.
Saudi state news service reports Prince Turki bin Saud bin Turki bin Saul al-Kabeer didn’t detail the method of death in the Saudi Arabai capital Riyadh where it is common death penalties are carried out by beheading in a public square.
This is the first time in past four decades a member of the royal family has been executed for murder conviction. In 1975 Prince Faisal bin Musaid was beheaded for assassinating King Faisal.
Social media of the kingdom has been rocked following the execution with some commenting they had never imagined of such to happen in the country. Others argued about the quality of justice system.
Usually Shariah law has been criticized by human rights groups and Western governments for being harsh and arbitrary punishments
Saudi lawyer Abdul-Rahman al-Lahim tweeted, “The greatest thing is that the citizen sees the law applied to everyone, and that there are not big people and other small people.”
According to New York Times, about 10,000 people watched the execution and thousands chanted following it as God is Great and Justice is Done.
However, it is not yet confirmed from reliable source or officially as to how many people watched the execution. The state news media even didn’t disclose the age of Prince Turki.http://www.dailynewsz.com/saudi-arabia-royal-family-member-executed/http://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Saudi-Arabia-Royal-Family-Member-Executed.jpghttp://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Saudi-Arabia-Royal-Family-Member-Executed-300x300.jpgworld newssaudi arabia
