Iraqi Forces Now Targeting To Free Mosul After Fallujah From ISIS
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said they are now targeting to free Mosul city from the control of ISIS after they have won victory in Fallujah.
However, it is not to forget Mosul is much larger than Fallujha, about ten times. It has has 10 times more population. It is the second-largest city in Iraq after capital Baghdad.
Military officials have warned the battle to free Mosul from the Islamic State militants would be much tougher. Humanitarian agencies too warn the same saying it would be a much bigger humanitarian disaster.
Meanwhile, the Sunnis too are worried the Mosul battle would see far more worse sectarian abuses than Fallujah.
Iraq research analyst at the Institute for the Study of War, Patrick Martin, said a lot of Sunni Arabs are mistrustful.
Martin added, “The force composition is important: what specific units are going to be involved, and making sure that units like the Iranian-proxy Shi’ite militias and compromised federal police are not involved.”
He further mentioned several compromised units were operating too alongside Iranian proxy militias in Fallujah and this is a major concern for future operations.
Added with all these, Mosul is not just a military challenge, but there are issues in political, economic, humanitarian and diplomatic areas too.http://www.dailynewsz.com/iraqi-forces-now-targeting-to-free-mosul-after-fallujah-from-isis/http://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Iraqi-Forces-Now-Targeting-To-Free-Mosul-After-Fallujah-From-ISIS.jpghttp://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Iraqi-Forces-Now-Targeting-To-Free-Mosul-After-Fallujah-From-ISIS-300x300.jpgworld newsfallujah, iraq,ISIS,islamic state, mosul
