China Returns Seized US Naval Drone
China has returned the seized US naval drone revealing in a released statement the transfer was done after friendly negotiation.
Pentagon too confirmed the return with a less friendly-sounding account. The drone was seized last week in the South China Sea when a Chinese submarine rescue ship took possession of it near to the USNS Bowditch.
The USNS Bowditch is an oceanographic survey vessel in the northwest of Subic Bay in the Philippines.
The area where Chinese authorities seized is near to the Scarborough Shoal, which is mainly cluster of reefs and rocks and lately has been a flashpoint in the relations between China and US and also China and Philippine.
The separate statement of United States added they had addressed the facts to China and called the authorities to comply with their obligations under international law.
However, immediately after China assured to be transferring the drone, US President-elect Donald Trump tweeted, “China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters – rips it out of water and takes it to China in unprecedented act.”
He added China don’t need to return the drone and keep it with them.
Trump surprised China after winning presidential election by taking a phone call from Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen, breaking diplomatic practice of decades.http://www.dailynewsz.com/china-returns-seized-us-naval-drone/http://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/China-Returns-Seized-US-Naval-Drone.jpghttp://www.dailynewsz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/China-Returns-Seized-US-Naval-Drone-300x300.jpgworld newschina, drone
