British Royals Visit Taj Mahal, India’s Iconic Monument To Love
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Taj Mahal in Indian city Agra on Saturday.
Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, are on a weeklong visit to the country. They arrived on April 10 in Mumbai and laid a wreath at the Taj Palace hotel. They played cricket with local children and met Bollywood stars in the city.
Before flying to capital New Delhi the couple met business leaders too at a charity ball.
In Delhi the prince and his wife, traveling without their young children, had lunch with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Their royal visit also included northeastern India’s Assam state to Kaziranga National Park that houses Indian one-horned rhinos and endangered swamp deer.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte flew away to neighboring nation Bhutan where the King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema have invited them.
