BlackBerry To Enter Autonomous Car Market Too
Its another quarter loss for BlackBerry and one cannot expect things will change after series of such down period for the mobile company.
Announcing the quarter of losses CEO John Chen said to be bringing the company out of the dust by stepping into future of connected cars.
Recently BlackBerry licensed its brand to Chinese company TCL and this is the first it excited the non-business consumers too for the next quarter.
Under the licensing deal TCL can bring to market devices with brand name BlackBerry.
BlackBerry acquired in 2010 the QNX Software System and now is looking ahead in bringing some well-needed revenue from the car project.
QNX is one of the most used automotive software and BlackBerry is learned to be pushing forward it in a huge way.
Until now the software has been used in over 60 million cars across the world and it is the central OS of self-driving cars. BlackBerry wants to make it the next must-have piece of technology in vehicles.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “With the opening of innovation center in Ottawa, BlackBerry is helping to establish our country as the global leader in software and security for connected car and autonomous vehicle development.”
